We then went to the glacier lagoon (of Vatnajokull) and got to tour around there on one of those amphibious boats/cars. And then we went over to another part of Vatnajokull and iceclimbed.  (ok we didn't really climb, we just walked around on the glacier. hahaha)  After that we headed out and drove in the interior, stopping for lunch at this watefall and had a little hike.  We continued on and got to a campground, Landmannalaugur.  We hiked through the lava rocks and climbed our way up to the top.....and then had a nice refreshing soak in the natural hotspring. :-)  The next day we headed down further south and went horsebackriding on Icelandic Horses.  That was fun....not including my horse deciding to take off and then slip on the lavarocks in the field and her going down and me hanging onto her neck! hahahahaha besides that it was fun.  We then spent the night in this campground, and we discovered there was a concert that night across the field, so Kathy and I made our way through the muddy field to try and listen to it.  Well, as usual things don't start til midnight, and well we were too tired to stick around, so we went back to the cabins.  But we could hear them play when we were in our cabins, so it was all good!  The next morning we headed for the "Golden Circle" (Gullfoss, Thingveillur, and Geysir).  On the way there, we stopped at Skaholt, a historical church, and took part in the morning service (it was only us, the minister, and one other person).  Then we went to Gullfoss, a wonderful waterfall, then down to the Geysir, that was pretty cool, and then lunch at Thingveillur (this is the site of the first Parliament).
.....One more photo album left
The last day of the scheduled tour is to get back to Reykjavik and have "cocktails" with the President.  (our cocktails were Pepsi's hahaha)  He gave us the grand tour of the residence, and we got a chance to talk with him as well.  Then after that we all headed back into the city and we went out for dinner and went out to some of the clubs.  We all started out at the same place, but we ended up at different places by the end of the night.  I think I went to 3 or 4 different clubs that night!  It was a lot of fun!  Some of the people from the group left the next day, so on the way to the airport, we made a stop at the Blue Lagoon.  That was nice and refreshing.  Of course we had to try out the mud from the bottom of the lagoon to see if helped our skin, so hear we were with this white mud on our faces hahahaha  I had one more day left in the city to do my shopping, so a few of us went downtown and shopped and then met up with everyone for pizza at Pizza 67....had their pepperoni and banana pizza...yucky hehehe  And then it was time to go home.....I had a FANTASTIC time in Iceland...I can't wait to go back!!

On the way home, I spent another day in Halifax.  Again, it was sooo hot!  We toured around the city and got to see some of the sites, like Dalhousie University, and Peggy's Cove.  I can't wait to go back to Halifax too!
